Radon is a rare, natural but radioactive gas, which occurs at low concentrations in soils. It can diffuse over basement rooms into buildings and endanger the people in these rooms.
The surroundings, the geology and the type of the building allow a first estimation of a possible radon hazard.
In Switzerland, the protection against radon is regulated by the law on radiation protection (StSG) and the regulation on radiation protection (StSV). The threshold values are fixed in dependence of the room utilization and the guidance value.PPLUS offers the following services in the range of protection against radon:
- risk assessment,
- concentration measurements,
- projects for structural measures on existing buildings,
- projects for preventive measures on new constructions,
- accompaniment of the impleentation of structural measures.
